How the colony works.
Searchlings is not one AI doing everything loosely. It is five AI SEO agents, each doing one thing precisely, in a fixed order. We call them searchlings. Here is the whole pipeline, in the order it runs.
The pipeline
One URL in.
Cited pages out.
Point Scout at your site. Five nights later you’re in the answer.
- 1 Scout Research Maps the ranking territory your competitors already own. ~90 seconds
- 2 Digger Audit Crawls every page. Flags broken links, missing titles, dead weight. 214 pages · avg
- 3 Scribe Draft Writes cited, on-brand pages against a strict editorial standard. 4–6 drafts / wk
- 4 Checker Verify Reads every draft. Kills anything without a source under 4 years old. 98.2% pass rate
- 5 Herald Publish Ships to your site and submits to answer engines. Rings the bell when cited. 8 engines · avg
Step 1 · Keyword research
Scout finds the opportunities.
Scout watches search data for your market: what people type into Google, what they ask AI assistants, and which of those questions your competitors answer while you don’t. Scout ranks every opportunity by how much traffic it could bring and how hard it would be to win, then queues the best ones for Scribe.
What you see
A running list of sightings in your dashboard, each with search volume, difficulty, and Scout’s reasoning.
Scout spotted “bulk hand sanitiser suppliers”. 480 searches a month. None of your competitors answer it well.

Step 2 · Site audits
Digger keeps the site healthy.
Every night Digger crawls your site the way a search engine does. Broken links, slow pages, missing titles, pages search engines can’t find: Digger logs each issue, fixes what is safe to fix automatically, and flags the rest for you with a plain-English explanation and a recommended fix.
What you see
An issues list with three states: fixed, waiting on you, and monitoring.
Page speed on /products is slow. Cause: oversized images. Fix queued.
In plain English: crawling indexing Core Web Vitals
Step 3 · Content drafts
Scribe writes the content.
Scribe drafts articles and pages for the opportunities Scout found. Every draft follows a fixed editorial standard: plain language, short sentences, no filler, no clichés, sources linked. Scribe writes for people first and search engines second, because that is what works now. Every draft goes to Checker before you ever see it.
What you see
Finished drafts in your review queue, each showing what Scribe flagged as needing your knowledge.
Draft ready. Scribe flagged 2 places where only you know the answer.
In plain English: the standard E-E-A-T
Step 4 · Quality · lead
Checker verifies everything.
Checker runs every draft through the standard: word count, keyword frequency, link accuracy, sentence and comma limits, banned phrases, repeated adjectives. The verdict is passed or rejected. Rejections list numbered reasons and go back to Scribe automatically. Passes move to Herald. Checker’s log is permanent and you can read all of it.
What you see
Every verdict, every reason, timestamped.
Rejected. 1) Sentence over the comma limit. 2) Brand mention missing. Returned to Scribe.
In plain English: the standard
Step 5 · Publish · citations
Herald publishes and keeps score.
Herald puts passed content live on your site and submits it for indexing. Then the second job starts: tracking where you appear. Search rankings, yes, but also AI answers. When ChatGPT or Google’s AI mentions your business, Herald logs it, because being the answer is the new being found.
What you see
A live record of everything published and everywhere you were cited.
Your business was cited in an AI answer for “bulk cleaning supplies” this week.
In plain English: AEO AI citations
The morning report
Every morning, one report.
While you slept, we worked. Each morning you get one plain email: what was found, fixed, written, checked, and published, with links to everything. Reading it takes two minutes. Acting on it usually takes none.
